Consistently Delivering Valuable Produce

At H&W Starch Derivatives Co, We produce and process quality cassava derivatives.

Who We Are

Producing and processing cassava for its food and non-food derivatives

H&W Starch Derivatives Co is an indigenous agribusiness firm with a business niche centred on the production and processing of cassava for its food and non-food derivatives. Established as one of three companies under Haske & Williams Ltd – a fast-rising agribusiness conglomerate – to exploit Nigeria’s huge comparative advantage in the production of Cassava tubers through the aggregation of smallholder farmer supply for processing at our strategically located state of the art facilities. At H&W Starch Derivatives Co, our ultimate goal is to put Nigeria on the map as a major exporter of a diverse variety of export quality cassava derivatives that consistently deliver value within and outside Nigeria.

Our Advantage

Fact Check

Nigeria is the world leader in the production of raw cassava with annual production estimated at 45 million tonnes, which is 70% more than Brazil, Indonesia or Thailand. Despite this huge production capacity, Nigeria accounts for zero percent of global trade in value-added cassava products with only about 10% of the country’s annual production being processed.

Our Products

Transforming raw produce into superior food and industrial products.

We take great pride in transforming raw produce into superior food and industrial products. We are actively striving to expand our product base through extensive research and development aimed at fully maximizing the potential of Cassava tuber as a premium raw material that can create locally produced alternatives for various imported food and non-food products. We have the following products currently in our production line:

The Kaiama Project

Boosting Nigeria’s utilization of Cassava as a raw material for the production.

The Kaiama Integrated Cassava Starch Production Project is a project conceived to boost Nigeria’s utilization of Cassava as a raw material for the production of a wide range of food and industrial grade raw materials. Using cassava as a starch source, the project is set to provide an alternative to imported corn and potato based starches and exploit the untapped value of Nigeria’s Cassava industry. Sited 195km from the Kwara State capital, Ilorin, in the Gwaria community of Kaiama L.G.A, the project site will be responsible for a daily production of 100MT of native starch for conversion to other derivatives at optimal capacity.

Our Progress

From the Inception of the Kaiama project, these activities have been completed to ensure maximum engagement

1

Preliminary site inspection and assessment
